This web site has been established to provide information about the Ordnance Field Park during its deployment in Vietnam between 1966 and 1972.
Our site is dedicated to the Families of all the guys who served with the unit in Vietnam for they too have had to live with the aftermath of this conflict.

PostHeaderIcon 6 OFP (Det) 1967-68

6 OFP (Det) replaced the original 1 OFP (Det) and this was the last time personnel were to be exchanged on a unit by unit basis.   The original OFP site was on a hill called Nui Dat 2.   6 OFP (Det) guys moved into a new location near Luscombe Airfield.   With a build-up of the Task Force during 1967, the unit continued to expand until it was finally replaced as a Detachment and converted to a full OFP in February 1968.

PostHeaderIcon 1 OFP (Det) 1966-67

These were the first OFP guys to arrive in Vietnam.  They had to set up the unit defences and operate as a unit at the new Task force Base at Nui Dat.   The VC even threw in a mortar attack to keep them on their toes.  Read all about their struggles, and some good times, during their twelve month tour of Vietnam.

PostHeaderIcon 1 OFP 1968-72

The TET Offensive was the first impression of the war many of the guys got when they landed in Vietnam to commence their tour with the redesignated 1 OFP.  Some were to go on and experience first hand the battle for FSB Coral.   Over the next four years the OFP grew in size until it was eventually withdrawn to Australia in February 1972. Its history stands as a proud reminder, dedicated to the efforts and hard work of all who have served within its ranks.
